School Uniform

back to the parents' page

The wearing of school uniform is not compulsory but it is something we wish to encourage strongly.  It means that children are always dressed sensibly and appropriately for the many activities they take part in at school.  It is also a unifying factor, helping to create a feeling of community.  Uniform is also important because it sets a high standard of personal tidiness and appearance.

WINTER

  • White or grey blouse or shirt
  • Grey shorts or long trousers
  • Grey skirt or pinafore dress
  • Yellow sweatshirt or grey pullover
  • School tie
  • Sensible black or grey shoes
  • A sensible coat or anorak

SUMMER

  • Girls wear dresses in yellow and white check or stripe and a yellow sweatshirt.
  • Boys wear a yellow T-shirt with grey shorts or trousers and a yellow sweatshirt.
  • Boys and girls should wear shoes or sandals (not open-toed).
  • Children may bring trainers to school for outdoor sports and in case they wish to play football on the field at lunchtime during the Summer

PE

Children need to be clothed appropriately for PE.  We suggest the following:

  • Navy blue or black shorts and a yellow or white T-shirt
  • Trainers for outdoor activities and plimsolls for some indoor activities
  • Hats are recommended when it is very hot and sunny.  These may be purchased from the school.
